AUD/USD Price Forecast: Stays below nine-day EMA near 0.6700

The AUD/USD pair remains flat for the second session in a row, trading around the 0.6680 level during European hours on Thursday. Technical analysis on the daily chart indicates a weak bullish bias, as the pair is still positioned slightly below the bullish channel pattern.

The 14-day Relative Strength Index (RSI) at 52.94 (neutral) reflects fading momentum after recent gains. In addition, the 50-day Exponential Moving Average (EMA) is trending higher and continues to support the AUD/USD pair, while the 9-day EMA has stabilized and is located just above the spot price, capping the immediate uptrend. The short-term average remains positioned above the bullish 50-day EMA, keeping the bullish bias intact.

Immediate resistance lies at the nine-day moving average at 0.6693. A close above the short-term average will open room for expansion towards the ascending channel. A successful bounce inside the channel would revive the bullish bias and help AUD/USD target 0.6766, its highest level since October 2024. A decisive breakout could open a bullish continuation towards the upper border of the bullish channel near 0.6890.

A daily close below the short-term average would weaken price momentum and put downward pressure on AUD/USD to test the 50-day EMA at 0.6638. Further losses will open a downtrend towards 0.6414, the lowest level since June 2025.
