EUR/USD Price Forecast: Tests nine-day EMA support near 1.1750

The EUR/USD pair is losing ground for the fourth session in a row, trading around 1.1760 during Asian hours on Monday. On the daily chart, technical analysis indicates a weak bullish bias, as the pair is testing the breach of the lower border of the ascending channel pattern.

Additionally, the 14-day RSI remains at 63.92 building above the midline, despite pulling back from recent overbought readings. The Relative Strength Index remains high, suggesting that buyers are still in control even as momentum eases from previous highs.

The nine-day exponential moving average (EMA) is rising above the 50-day EMA, reinforcing the bullish bias. EUR/USD is holding above both averages, keeping the short-term uptrend intact. The moving average structure continues to favor the upside, with the upwardly sloping nine-day EMA acting as dynamic support while the 50-day EMA supports the broader upside. A continued hold above the faster average would keep the path of least resistance higher.

EUR/USD could target the psychological level of 1.1800, followed by the three-month high of 1.1808, which was recorded on December 24. Further advance above the confluence resistance area would open doors towards 1.1918, the highest level since June 2021, followed by the upper boundary of the ascending channel around 1.1930.

On the downside, EUR/USD could find its immediate support at the nine-day moving average at 1.1757, in line with the lower limit of the ascending channel. A break below the channel would undermine short-term momentum, exposing the pair to a test of the 50-day EMA at 1.1673. Further decline could lead to prices retesting the three-week low of 1.1589 recorded on December 1.
