EUR/USD Price Forecast: Tests nine-day support near 1.1700

The EUR/USD pair remains weaker for the fourth straight session, trading near 1.1720 during Asian hours on Friday. On the daily chart, technical analysis indicates a prevailing bullish bias, as the pair remains within an ascending channel pattern. Additionally, the 14-day RSI stands at 62.11, indicating strong positive momentum without overbought pressures.

EUR/USD is holding above the bullish 9- and 50-day Exponential Moving Averages (EMAs), maintaining a bullish bias. The bullish outlook remains intact as long as the price remains above the exponential moving averages. The short-term average remains higher than the medium-term scale, confirming the strength of the trend.

EUR/USD may rebound towards a two-month high of 1.1804, which was reached on December 16. A daily close above the main barrier may extend gains towards the upper border of the ascending channel around 1.1850. A break above the channel will support the pair to explore the area around 1.1918, the highest since June 2021.

Further declines could be contained towards the nine-day moving average at 1.1713, followed by the lower limit of the ascending channel around 1.1700. A break below this support zone will weaken short-term price momentum and put downward pressure on EUR/USD to test the 50-day moving average at 1.1644, followed by a three-week low at 1.1589, which was recorded on December 1.
